AI Receptionist Free Trial: 7 Days, 30 Minutes, No Credit Card
Try the AI receptionist on your own phone line for 7 days with 30 minutes of live calls. No credit card, no setup fee and no invoice at the end. Every feature of the plan you pick is on from the first call, including Google Calendar booking, warm transfer and spam filtering.

What the Trial Includes
The trial is the real product, not a demo. You get the plan you pick with every feature switched on, a phone number to call, and 30 minutes of live calls to spend however you like over 7 days.
- A temporary phone number, or forward your existing line so real callers reach the receptionist
- 30 minutes of live calls, enough for 10 to 15 ordinary calls. A call in progress when the last minute passes is not cut off
- Every feature of the plan you pick: 24/7 answering in 55+ languages, spam filtering, Google Calendar booking, warm transfer, voicemail and transcripts on Essential, with the file and website knowledge base and post-call actions from Starter up
- The same dashboard, call history and founder support that paying customers get
- A short notice to callers at the start of each call that the receptionist is on a trial account. It disappears when you add a card
If you sign up without picking a plan, the trial runs on Starter. You can switch plans from the dashboard as often as you like, and the trial keeps running on the new one.
How the Free Trial Works
From sign-up to your first answered call in about five minutes
Sign Up
Use an email address or your Google account. The trial starts the moment the email is verified, on the plan you clicked on the pricing page or on Starter if you came straight here.
Set It Up
Enter your business name, hours and FAQ, pick a voice, and choose a temporary number or forward your existing line. Most people are done in about five minutes.
Call It
Call your own number and ask what a customer would ask. Read the transcript in the dashboard, adjust the instructions, and add a card whenever you are ready.
Five Calls Worth Making During the Trial
30 minutes is plenty to find out whether the receptionist handles the calls your business gets. These five cover most of them, and together they take about ten minutes.
- A booking. Ask for an appointment on Tuesday afternoon and watch the event appear in your Google Calendar before you hang up.
- A request for a person. Say "can I speak to someone" and see the receptionist text you who is calling and why before it puts the call through.
- A question from your FAQ. Ask about your hours, your prices or your service area, and check the answer against what you entered.
- A caller in another language. Call in Spanish, or any of the 55+ languages, and listen to it answer in kind.
- A sales pitch. Play the part of a cold caller and see the call filtered out of your call list as spam.
Each call shows up in your dashboard with a transcript and a summary, so you can read back exactly what the receptionist said. Our price comparison uses the same five calls to check every service on the list.
What Happens on Day 8
Nothing is charged, because there is no card on file to charge. You have three choices, and the first two are the only ones that take any action.
- Add a card during the trial. Your plan starts that moment with its full minutes, a permanent local number in the US or Canada chosen by area code, and no trial notice on calls. We email you a reminder two days before the trial ends.
- Add a card later. Your account stays, so you can come back and subscribe from the pricing page whenever you are ready. The second time around there is no trial, and the plan is billed from day one.
- Do nothing. The trial ends, the temporary number is released and there is no invoice.
Plans start at $14 a month for 75 minutes, and extra minutes are $0.25 each in Booster Packs that never expire.
How Other AI Receptionist Trials Compare
Most AI receptionists offer some kind of trial. The terms below come from each vendor's own pricing page, read in October 2026.
| Service | Trial length | Trial minutes | Card required | Entry plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI Receptionist | 7 days | 30 | No | $14 for 75 minutes |
| Reception by ElevenLabs | 14 days | 30 | No | $29 for 75 minutes, plus tax |
| Rosie | 7 days | not published | No | $49 for 250 minutes |
| Upfirst | 14 days | not published | No | $24.95 for 30 calls |
| Dialzara | 7 days | not published | not stated | $29 for 60 minutes |
| RingCentral AI Receptionist | 14 days | not published | not stated | $49 for 100 minutes |
| Phonely | free plan, no end date | 100 a month | No | $0, then $50 for 250 minutes |
Phonely's free plan is the one real free tier in the group, and its own comparison table shows what it leaves out: no call transfer, no transcripts, no analytics, no premium voices and community-only support. When the 100 minutes are used up it stops answering until you move to the $50 Starter plan, so a busy month ends with the phone going unanswered. The full plan-by-plan comparison is in our roundup of ten AI answering services.
